Veggies and Steel. This is some trade skill, huh?
Are you tired of the people sitting next to quest givers with the items they need for 50,000 kinah when the reward is 5,000? Asmodeans know what I'm talking about, and I'm here to make your life significantly easier in part deux of our Vitality series for the emo angels in us all. This tier is daunting at first in Morheim, but after a quick glance here you'll realize that you just might be hunting in the wrong place for your vitality needs.
By the way, I'd advise you be at least 25 before attempting this guide. Some of the enemies in these areas don't play nice if you're below that. I take no responsibility for banshees trashing you before you can act if you don't listen to me. There are safer places, but they are nowhere near as good as these.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
100-140
I hope you like Titanium. You'll be right clicking all along mountains to the west of the Havenjark Cemetary of Brusthonin. Do very long sweeps so they have time to respawn behind you. You'll have to pass over the gold for now. Most people are here for that anyway, so you should have the titanium all to yourself. Finish 130-140 with the plant life in Eastern Morheim along the pass. There are plenty of good spawns here for your skill level.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
140-165
It's time for a Rabano Rampage. The farmlands to the south of our titanium ridge will provide all of the Rabano you could ever ask for, in massive amounts and clustered deposits. You'll have to fight for some of them, there's no way around it. It's worth it. You'll see and agree.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
165-190
Yes, you've seen this picture before. Time to depress the Gold market some more. Run the exact same circuit you did for titanium, and grab everything in your path. The titanium will sell well no matter what grade you pull. The gold is just plentiful, in my experience it doesn't sell very much due to a low demand of gold-quality handicrafts and tomes/orbs. You'll need a break after running the same route twice. We're almost there!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
190-199+
You can't beat the Sprigg Habitat. Look directly west of the main road going south to Mt. Musphel -- you'll see an enclosure loaded and surrounded by Kirka and Chikra. Run in a circle looting everything as it comes and remember that only the Wardens and Hunters will actually pick a fight with you. The gatherers are just like you, minding their own business!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Monotony is the game for this tier, unfortunately. We've got massive clusters of the same thing over and over again. There are some benefits to this though, namely bank space. 800 titanium takes up the same space as 8 titanium, rather than having a rainbow of different vitality goods. Since most of this takes place in Brusthonin, you're safe from the occasional rifting party. Just be sure to change it up and do this in moderation. There's nothing to feel ashamed of if you quit the game because the experience grind was too much. There is a lot of shame in losing your will to play from a gathering overdose though! Remember, everything in moderation, and sell off what you can't use here! There's a big market for some of these, so check your server's economy and see if you can make some money with your efforts! After all, it's another 100,000 down the drain to hit Greater Extract Vitality... and I won't spoil how much the next one costs, you'll just have to see our next guide to find out (and cry!)

Aion: Asmodean Vitality Extraction Guide 1-99
Uproot those plants like it's Super Mario Bros 2!
Gathering professions have always been the simplest and turned the quickest profit for most MMORPG's. In Aion, not only can everyone do it no matter what profession they choose, but it's required to complete some quests unless you enjoy purchasing it from some entrepreneur running a private shop next to the quest giver for way more than it's worth. If you ever plan on cooking, smithing, alchemy, handicrafting, or tailoring... wait, that's everything. If you plan on doing a trade skill period, leveling your Vitality Extraction is extremely important. Often times the only thing that cannot be gathered in a great piece of gear are the respective Fluxes, the rest you can supply with zero cost if you stick with your extraction skills. You can check out my Aether Extraction guides if you prefer to suck the life from the skies rather than the ground.
It's time to show those stupid plants who is boss. Here we go!
General Tips
- If you're looking for specific rare elements, like Crystals, Rose Quartz, and other gems you may want to invest in a detection helmet from your Extraction training room in Pandaemonium. They're not cheap, but they can help when you're running circuits for rare materials to know if things are up from a long distance. These can be awfully expensive, so check the broker for them used first.
- Clear out your damn inventory! Bank everything you can when you can do it at outposts. Later on there are 3 types of ore you can get from each typical node (Shining Vortexes, Adamantite, Platinum are just a few) so you will need as much space as you can get if you plan on gathering as you grind, or just gathering period. Plants can produce fresh/high quality versions, and even some like Kirka will very rarely produce dyes for your equipment.
- Even if you don't skill up off it, gather the high demand items. Everyone will need the various metal ores. Tecoma logs go for over 1,000 each on Israphel at the moment. Never vendor your goods, always check the broker to see what you can sell your stash for if you don't plan on cooking or mixing it up later.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1-45
Fish for Conide around the Altgard fortress if your skill isn't at least 20 already from your time before ascension, and loot Azpha liberally from the Moslan Forest to the west of the Altgard Fortress to get you started. Once you've got those in abundance, switch to Iron and Tecoma Logs, at 15 and 20 skill respectively. These are the staple ingredients for 1-100 handicrafting and both smithing, so gather as much as you can for your own use or for a profit. This should take you to 45 without any trouble.
Azpha is used in healing potions, so you may want to hold onto it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
45-75
Gribade Crater Lake is where it's at for this segment. Kandula is in abundance all around the NPCs and there is even a quest to turn in 15 nearby. Once you hit 55, switch it up and fish in the lake as well. There are many fish spawns and very few people actually fish here. From here, you have two options depending on how high you are in level.
Kandula can also be used to create mana potions, which are infinitely useful for most classes as they grind, so a profit option is here as well.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
75-99 Option 1 - I'm currently leveling.
If you're still in your teens and keeping your vitality extraction high enough to level with you, Gribade Canyon is your ticket. They're hidden away amidst the enemies, but a plethora of 75 skill plants are here and your only good option to break into the 90s. Once you've accomplished that, head down to Impetusium and welcome to paradise. TONS of 80-90 gathering here. Take it to 99, upgrade, and I'd say take it to 110 here before moving on to Morheim or beyond.
Cooks will benefit the most from this option if you're looking for a variety of dishes to level on.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
75-99 Option 2 - I'm already level 25 or higher and skipped this early on because gathering sucks and oh god how do I harvest Azpha.
It's Horto time. You might recall that Brusthonin farms are absolutely covered in plants, which also produce a rare item from time to time for a repeatable quest. First stop is on the Polluted waste just north of the portal in, and loot to your heart's content. The enemies are aggressive but as long as you're tough enough to take two on at once, this is by far your best option. There are tons of extraction points in a small area, so live it up. You might make a fair bit of Kinah on the repeatable quest in the process as well.
Horto can then be turned around and cooked into maximum HP up food, great for PvP and tanks.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bam! Extraction level 1 is maxed out, and all it takes is a little effort and a lot of right clicking. You can try to make maximum profit by turning the raw materials into workable goods like Ingots and Wood for the respective skill-ups in the trades if you haven't started them already. Now that you've taken it to level 99 though, the curve is going to get tougher. The distance between levels is going to increase a bit, and competition for good spots will be intense as well. But you need not worry! I'll take you through the 100-199 range soon. Now get out there and saturate the Iron market.

Aion: Asmodean Aether Extraction Guide 200-299
Take a vacation in the volcano!
You've done well to come this far. Hours upon hours have been spent staring at progress bars, and unlike the other professions, if you AFK here, you are dead. Even alt-tabbing has caused me to fall from the skies like a brick if something really distracts me. You've spent ~140,000 kinah just training on how to waste your wings.
Now it's time to waste them some more.
This level will go a little faster than the other two simply because you have numbed yourself of the pain and suffering involved. The good news is that you've got your level 30 wings and level 25 flight speed passive at this point, so you should be hitting at least 2 nodes per run depending on your addiction to wind serum. The bad news is this level range will take a little more finesse and attention than before. These areas are either at awkward heights, or have monsters hovering inches away from aggro range from the best rest spots.
Scared yet? I hope you've got at least 5 empty cube slots. There are four, FOUR possibilities from these nodes; Gems, Pure Gems, High Quality Gems, and Essence of Wind. The 5th slot is to ensure you can still gather. Now that you're prepared for the worst, we've got a little hike before our first destination.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
200-225
In Morheim, head south to Mt. Musphel and then west past the encampment for the area's quests. See that lava river right by them to the north west? Run along side it and dive straight down to Node #1, with a rest spot right next to it. Head due south along the walls to find Nodes 2 and 3, and do wide half circles along the east sky temple wall to find the most 200 nodes. This one is really easy compared to most starter tiers.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
225-250
You probably don't need me to tell you this, but there are two 225 nodes right above nodes #1 and #3 on the same path as before. Take the same circuit, grabbing the 200's until they stop giving you skill since they're faster and this tier produces amazing Wind Serum, so stocking up on Aether Gems is advised. You'll end up using the same rest areas as you did for the 200 tier.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
250-275
I'm going to be blunt with you here - this tier sucks. The 250 nodes are clustered mostly in the middle of the islands of Sky Temple, meaning resting is quite perilous unless a group has cleared the nearby area. One wrong landing and you might have to fly right off in a hurry. On the other hand, you have the option of Beluslan as well, which is probably a better option. The nodes in Beluslan are underneath the large structure in the sky, and in the distance far off otherwise. It resembles the 150-175 tier in Morheim. This one is your call, but I'd do Belusian. Two good spawns reside on under the eastern outcropping.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
275-299
So easy it hurts. Off the eastern most point of the structure, rotating around you you should see no fewer than 4 275 nodes. I don't have to hold your hand here. Pop those wind serums and loot, loot, loot! I noticed a much higher rate of Pure Aether Gems on these, maybe 12-15% of my attempts were Pure.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you're made of money (and you should be if you sell these or the serum they can be used to produce), you're ready for the next step. Burning Vortexes. So for our next segment, reserve a spot in your local burn ward. It's even more complicated than this tier was, and this time, I'm serious! See you then!

Aion: Asmodean Aether Gathering Guide - 100-199
The Aether Extraction marathon continues!
If you've come this far, you're hardcore. There's no doubt about it. Mining Aether is a chore, a labor of love. Taking it beyond 100 is going to test your patience all over again. No longer do you have the ability to switch channels to make nodes respawn instantly. No longer do you have the complete safety of the Fortress. It's entirely possible for Elyos to come ruin your day when you're casually sucking the life out of the skies.
The same basics apply here, but starting with the next segment, things will be getting a little more threatening. At this point you might want to consider at least waiting until level 25 to get your flight speed bonus. Nodes other than these will be in some really annoying areas, but doing nothing with full wing power is even worse. You could even wait until level 30 and get your new wings, but you'd have to suffer through that level range being forced to buy Aether Crystals if you wanted to craft solid gear for yourself. After all, this guide is about harvesting Aether, not buying it!
Welcome to 100-199 aether gathering. Got your lesser/normal/major wind serum stacks? Good. Let us begin.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
100-125
Simple spots, close to the ground. First is above the apothecary, the building west of the brokers. The next one you'll hit is directly behind the brokers to the south. You can rest on the Aether gate structure right next to it for quick resting. From there, head due west and you'll find a node above the banner structure with a lone guard. Loot it and rest next to the fortress flag. By now, you should be able to restart your circuit but if you need some more time to kill there is a level 75 node right behind you over the banner structure. You can still skill up on this into the 100s slightly, and you can never have enough aether of any type.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
125-150
A little bit higher. Start from atop the south middle gate, and look directly up. That will be Node #1 for you. Head northeast, land on the warehouse keeper's tent, and turn towards the middle of town facing directly up. Node #2 is right there. Now head to the northwest atop Aegir's command structure (the main campaign giver for Morheim) and look directly up. You'll see another 125 node, #3, and a 100 node. Loot the 100 if you need to kill some time, and repeat.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
150-175
Now you'll start using the Abyss Gate structure in the middle as your resting point since these nodes are going to be awfully high. To the northwest is your first point, above the stairs leading out of town. Rest on the blue outcropping and look directly south of where the first node was -- you'll see a 125 and a 150 in close proximity to each other. Grab both, and then way above the very same fortress flag you used before is the final 150 point. You can rest atop the gate there for easy access. Nothing to it, right? Try logging on non peak hours if competition is getting to you.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
175-199
Oddly enough, the easiest part. Just rest atop the abyss gate area once more, and grab the pictured note while facing northeast. From there, just like the picture, a quick trip northwest and that's another easily reached point. Circle around to the southeast and you'll see a node near where the blue outcropping joins up with the abyss gate. Easy node #3. Damn, why can't they all be this easy? If you're having trouble competing for those, you'll have to suck it up and fly to the far south and far north regions to get Aether nodes with no competition. Don't settle for that unless things are really overcrowded. Then you can try going to the Sky Temple and pick up the nodes barely off the ground, which are 175 skill. Put up a tent here if you do this, I sense you'll be here for a while in our next segment...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With this all said and done, you now have to pay about ten times what you did to take Aether Extraction to the Greater level. Suck it up. You just harvested a couple hundred aether crystals and probably about 65 high grade. I think you can handle that, right? With that purchased, we'll see you in our next installment of Aether Gathering, where we dance around a volcano and things get really unsafe! May not be suitable for those under level 30! Get to grinding those levels out and I'll see you there!

30-45 "Appetizers"
And just as the elemental stones begin to give no experience or chance for a skill up, we will begin using them to great effect. You'll be making potions in this tier for life and mana, preferably using all of the materials gathered from your lower days of vitality extraction. Start with the lesser skilled ones and make the instant potions as you approach the 40's. You can go all the way to 50 on these if you like, and by like, I mean have more materials than you know what to do with. If you plan to make some weapons in this tier, make certain you create a good supply of Lesser Magic Power Crystals and Lesser Wisdom Stones while you can still get crafting experience off of them.
35-65 "The Main Course"
Have you been leveling Aether Extraction? This is where it all starts to pay off. Lesser Wind Serum is the name of the game, and you will be making it en masse. It's used for everything involving your wings and can be liberally chugged while harvesting higher aether, since it can produce higher quality serum. Everyone wants wind serum. Everyone needs wind serum. I've probably consumed over 3000 in my lifetime and we're only a month in. Get in on the market or be self sufficient, it's your call here. If you don't have powder or the market doesn't allow it as a decent option? You can either make scrolls or do work orders past this tier. The scrolls are absolutely worthless though unfortunately.
65-99 "Where is dessert?"
This is where the party really ends on Alchemy. The middle tier weapons are pretty worthless. The scrolls at this level might as well not exist, they offer next to no benefits and you don't even have the real scrolls you'd want to make yet. The real highlights come at 90 when you can use the plethora of worthless manastones you've saved up and try to make some money on the high quality versions since the lesser catalysts used at this tier are quite cheap. How will you get to 90 though? Work orders. I really don't have a good answer for this, and I hope they address it, but alchemy 70-90 is just some suffering of work orders. It'll help you fill out your recipe book though, so only buy what is necessary for this tier to make yourself, and hope the work orders give you something you can use rather than some garbage 28 kinah work order materials.

The first stage of alchemy is a troubling one. We have access to very little in terms of good, marketable things aside from the potions. Just like the initial stages of crafting in other games though, it's just eclipsed too quickly to be worthwhile for the level 90-99 weapons typically. I would say unless you can get a real good deal on the required flux, it's not worth it. But this is just the first stage of the journey, and the real glory of alchemy starts to come into play in the 100-199 group and beyond. Corner the market on those elemental stones, people. You're going to need even more for the next class, so see you in Alchemy 201!
